Canon 400mm L II USM lens – Old Style non-IS – excellent condition. Glass and mechanicals in excellent condition. No visable marks on glass – a few dust specks inside the lens but nothing objectionable. Barrel – Shows very light wear – some minor paint chips – a few skuffs and some minor paint wear also where hood attaches. This lens is in great condition. If you are looking for a 400 and don’t care about Image Stabilization – you won’t find a better one. Focus smooth and quick comes with outer hard truck case, hood and caps leather boot. This is a Nikon Classic! This is my personal lens which was purchased at B&H as a gray market lens. It has seen very little use and it has never been used professionally. Much of the lens is brand new. The optics are perfect. The lens foot is virtually unused as you can see in the images. The only marks on the lens are some normal small scuffs and a couple of marks where one of the lens hoods has been screwed on and off. No other imperfections of any kind. In fact I had to unpack the second lens hood just to get an image for the auction. The carrying case is original and has NEVER been removed from the shipping box. The lens will be delivered as it was delivered fresh from Nikon with Case, Manual and strap. The optics are superb. No scratches or anything else. I have taken good care with this lens. The weight of the lens is 12.8 lbs. That is roughly 1½ lbs more than the VR lens which you will pay over 10 grand. If you need VR, buy the VR. If you have good lens technique and regularly use a tripod, save yourself some $$ and buy this lens. Obviously, the warranty is expired but there are many quality, Nikon authorized service centers and service is readily available shoud you need it. This lens has NEVER seen the inside of a service department. It has never needed anything. Buyer is responsible for actual insured shipping costs to North America, Europe, Japan and Australia. Nikon 400mm af-i. Fast and built like a tank, weights over 13 lbs. This has provided me many quality wildlife photographs and works great. The original owner was L.A , this lens has preformed flawlessly, Optics on this lens is excellent, no scratch, no mold, no oil, super clean and clear, the lens barrel is in excellent condition and shows signs of normal use, no dings or dents, lens shade has a small tear in the rubber ring from the locking foot being tightened to the front shade, also a few paint chips on the hood. AF on this lens is fast and accurate even with the TC-17E. The lock button for the aperture ring does not lock but will stay where it’s set to so it’s not a big issue. AF distance button works, as well as the focus lock buttons. Lens comes with two piece lens shade and rear cap, filter holder with L-37 filter, Lens coat also include.
