The best and lastest Sony HXR-NX5U.Illness forces sale so let me tell you about it.I bought it less than a month ago in San Francisco at FH Video Inc, a big Sony AUTHORIZED dealer and that is important, for 4399.00. I also had bought the Sony HXR-FMU128 flash drive that is 128 GB, 11 hours of recording flash unit from B&H in New York another authorized Sony dealer for 765.95.I wanted to see the camera and make sure that it wasn't one of the cheap ones that you can find on the enternet. I have been looking for this camera for a long time. The ones that I have found on the internet for cheap prices are in Japanese, and aren't package in the right boxes, look at the ones and make sure ther box is the same as the one I have pictured for that is the original box from Sony, also there warranties are no good, plus you can't buy an extended warranty if you wish, only from an authorized dealer can you do that, so be aware.This camera does not have 1 minute on it.It is NEW!!!. It is still in the box and needs to be registered. This camera comes with Sony's 1 year warranty. It comes with the new KATA 183 Capsule professional camera bag with rain cover awesome bag, the best for this unit cost 183.00. Also has "Two" Full Lexar HD Video 16 GB Memory Stick Duo Pro, cost 148.00. This camera has two slots plus the place where the 128GB flash drive goes.Total I have spent on this bundle is $5495.95 plus tax of almost 520.00. The first in Sony's line of NXCAM solid-state camcorders, the HXR-NX5U is also the company's first professional-level AVCHD camcorder. And while it may look similar to its HDV predecessor, the HVR-Z5U, in fact this is a very different animal. Its ability to capture HD and SD video in AVCHD and MPEG-2 formats--and save it to solid state media--is only one of its distinctive traits. Full-raster 1920 x 1080 video is another, including the option of recording 720/60p video as well as 60i, 30p and 24p. And because the NX5U can capture to media cards plus an optional flash memory unit, you can simultaneously record a different signal to each, whether HD + a backup or HD + SD. MPEG-2 for SD Recording Format SD format recording is available in addition to HD format recording. The SD recording format uses MPEG-2 which is the same compression codec as standard DVD-VIDEO Discs. Easy Operation with Newly Designed Menu The completely new menu interface allows users to adjust camcorder functions via a touch panel or buttons and switches.
