This auction is being relisted due to non-payment of previous winning bidder. This auction is for the most desirable Leica 50mm lens – an original and mint condition 1st version Noctilux. During the previous auction, there had been many requests to separate the lens and camera into two auctions. Well, here it is. This Noctilux is stunning: smooth and silky – it is as pretty and collectible as it gets. Please review the pictures – they say it all. The pictures in this listing were taken by me and I certify that I own the camera and the lens, and it is in my possession for delivery to the winning bidder upon full payment. I am open to realistic and bona fide offers during the auction – therefore these items may be sold before auction end. I also reserve the right to end the auction at any time and to complete the auction ONLY based on the terms stated below. Important: please read the following payment and shipping terms before you bid! Selling rare, vintage and irreplaceable items on eBay brought significant fraud against my auctions over the past year. As a result of these fraudulent events, I suffered losses in transactions valued at over $30,000 even though I was 100% within applicable laws and every actionable eBay Safe Harbor and PayPal Seller Protection contractual requirement. In the complex world of international transactions, the current rules have proven not to be adequate to protect the seller’s interests and I have repeatedly consulted eBay and PayPal on how to bring about the additional necessary changes because I believe in being a positive contributor to a safe and happy marketplace. Although improvements continue to come, in the current state, they are still not sufficient to protect the seller of rare, vintage and irreplaceable items. Yet it appears that despite my most consistent and professional approach to selling important, rare and vintage items, there are those who decide to act only according to their own wishes. While I am very amenable to prior arrangements, I must weigh the risks of a proper completion as my good nature has unfortunately been taken advantage of before. Not very often – only 3 times in 10 years – but every time it is an expensive and irreplaceable item being shipped outside of the United States where I have limited ability to ensure compliance. I am delighted to make new friends from all around the world. And while I love to work with every bona fide bidder, I cannot always agree with every bidder’s wishes. That is why I ask each serious bidder to communicate with me at least 48 hours before auction end so we can find a happy way to complete the transaction. If there is no prior agreement, then only my stated terms, as well as eBay rules, will apply. Therefore, I am particularly disturbed when I became the target of vicious and malicious attacks through the eBay feedback system, where the rules allow buyers to have the last word. Despite being a subjective system, feedback entries are perceived and valued as important signposts of a seller’s performance, even though they are not objective nor are they always factual. In fact, non-factual information in a feedback entry is not sufficient reason for eBay to remove it, even though in the eBay User Agreement, all members – buyer and sellers – are required to be truthful and accurate. Some may say that in almost 10 years on eBay, only having 3 incidents is not so bad. Not bad, but absolutely not necessary or pleasant, and it is a real time burner every single time. My less fortunate experience early in 2009 replaced my naïveté when I lost a precious, irreplaceable mint collectible to a scam that played out over 4 months and across two oceans. Ergo, when I am frivolously accused of being “fraudulent” and “criminal” on a public forum, I am compelled to defend myself – with facts. You will see that the claim in one of my feedbacks that I did not give a refund is patently untrue – click here. Needless to say, I am not motivated to continue any further dialog with rogues. In addition to this misstatement, I had been approached by an associate of the person who left this feedback to entice me to sell the items to them again through a disguised alias. I have these solicitation emails and the facts to prove their association, so these documents have been turned over to eBay for further investigation of malicious bidding violation. It is very sad to see this happen but I am sure the facts will eventually stop all such attempts of impropriety. ********* My intention and hope with every auction remains to be bringing joy and pride to those who value not only rare and highly collectible vintage items, but the pleasant exchanges with those who appreciate the experience of dealing with like minds and aficionados. I will leave the unsavory to those who feed on it. Good luck with your bids! ********* Therefore, my terms below are in place to protect the interests of both the buyer and the seller in ways that are 100% legal, ethical and compliant with eBay and PayPal rules. The terms stated below reflect these values and must be fully agreed to by the bidder or the transaction cannot be completed. The following are conditions that you must accept in order to submit a bid, or to complete the auction: PLEASE EMAIL FOR BIDDING APPROVAL BEFORE YOU BID. IF YOU DO NOT ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE TERMS, YOUR BID AND YOUR WINNING BID WILL BE CANCELLED. 1. All items are sold AS IS with no returns or refunds. 2. Within 24 hours of auction close, the winning bidder agrees to make a PayPal deposit payment of $2,500 to the seller’s account, with the balance of the full payment through wire transfer within 72 hours of auction close. All bank fees are to be paid by the buyer within the handling fee. Any other payment arrangement must be negotiated no less than 48 hours prior to auction end. If the auction is not fully paid within 72 hours from the close of auction, the $2,500 deposit will be forfeited and the auction re-listed, with an unpaid item strike and negative feedback issued against the bidder. 3. Shipment will only be made to a PayPal-verified address. The winning bidder must be the PayPal account holder. 4. The winning buyer agrees to pay for the handling costs (packing and insurance) and shipping charges based on the ship-to location which will be determined at the end of the auction. Please also understand that that destination charges such as customs duties and taxes and any other local charges is the responsibility of the winning bidder and are in addition to the packing and shipping charges.
