Canon 50mm f0.95, classic Noctilux from Canon Professionally modified to Leica M mount, 6 bit coded Use for film, Leica M3 to M7, digital M8 and M9 Used (Excellent+) condition Ship to: World Wide Description Canon 50mm f0.95 is a masterpiece in optics, manufactured in 1960s. It has not been surpassed until Leica produces Noctilux f0.95 in 21C. Lens itself is big, bright, expensive and very rare Lens barrel shows sign of use. But no ding or dent, just normal usage. Compare to its age, it is very good condition indeed Lens glass is clean as pictured. It is not mint condition, as obviously used but no haze, fungus. Original Canon filter included. It is very HARD TO FIND CANON f0.95 IN THIS CONDITION. How to use: It is modified to Leica M mount. You can use the lens to Leica film and digital M series bodies 1) Rangefinder cam is the most critical part of this lens. It should be cared not to be hit, dented or excessively forced. Leica M’s focus accuracy is fully relying on lens cam alignment. 2) Lens barrel is way too big, so it covers lens release button entirely. See description below how to do 3) With such a big glass, it is prone to flare if pointed to strong light source like sun. This lens is for whom look for specialty in dim light condition or extra degree of out of focus. In any case you have question, you can connect to me through e-mail or twitter. Included UV filter has cleaning marks and obvious sign of use. It protect lens and handle abuse Rear glass is clean and clear. Inside lens, small numbers of dust exist which is normal for used lens. No impact on function and performance You can see rear lens glass is tapped out & rangefinder cam located. It is original design. Lens barrel shows sign of use, but no Ding or Dent. There are slight paint loss especially at scalloped focus ring So beautiful and magnificent configuration with Leica M3. But do you find a very strange thing in this picture? You don’t see lens release button at all. Important remark 1: Canon f0.95 is not designed for Leica M. It is for Canon 7 or 7s originally. I use wooden picks for solution as pictured. Just slight push down is enough to release the lens. I recommend not use folk, swiss army knife….whatever metal things. It will scratch your valuable Leica. You can see 6 bit code at the lens. Important remark 2: Because construction of Leica M and Canon 7 mount are different, I recommend you always set the lens to closest distance before attach to Leica body Lens set to closest distance & rangefinder cam retrieved. It will not stress body’s ball bearing of rangefinder lever. Rangefinder cam protruded when you set to infinite position. It could do stress ball bearing of rangefinder level. This is NOT must-follow instruction. I do several times lens attachment without problem at infinite position. But if you follow instruction in here, it will eliminate any chance to damage rangefinder cam or ball bearing. You can utilize this lens to Micro 4/3 body or SONY NEX with proper adapter. I really like Olympus anti-shaking function embedded in body. Old manual lens can be benefited. Sony NEX has 2 times wider sensor area though. Why they are not adapt both things together? I will ship original Canon 7 lens mount parts. You can convert back to original one if you want later. This is a very nice camera, functions perfectly. The camera is extremely clean, however, there is a little blemish, see pictures, In reality, it looks mich better and is not so visible, but I took close up images to show you exactly how the camera is. The top plate is near mint, and overall, the camera is really nice and fresh, rangefinder is bright and precise. The protective plastic is still on the bottom plte. The camera comes complete in box with instructions and papers. Winning bidder adds 20$ shipping within Canada, 35$ to the USA and 100$ overseas. Ins. is extra. Canadian buyers add 5% GST, in Quebec, 7.5% PST as well.
