This No Reserve auction is for a Leica 35mm/f1.4 Summilux ASPH serial nr. 3921473 and manufactured in 2003. It's a Leica M bayonet mount lens, the distance scale is in feet and meters, it has 9 elements in 5 groups, aperture range is f1.4-f16, closest focus is 0.7M, it has 9 aperture blades, and it weighs 250gm. The Leica product code for this lens is 11874. I bought this lens about three years ago from a photographer who had bought it new and owned it for a year. He had used a UV filter on it and so have I, so the glass is in perfect condition. No marks, scratches, haze or other problems. The mechanics are wonderful; the aperture ring works with ½ stop detents and is smooth and easy to turn with one finger. The focus action is incredibly smooth from closest focus to infinity, the best of any ASPH lens I've owned. The aperture blades are of course completely dry, the lens has never been CLA'd and doesn't need one now. Cosmetically it's in excellent condition, the only wear signs are on the aperture ring and you can see those in the pictures I've attached. This is a perfect working copy of this classic lens. It comes with front and rear caps, hood and hood cap, all paperwork, leather case and original box with matching serial nr. I'm selling it only because I haven't been using it now for two years except to exercise it every couple of months or so. It needs to be used and shouldn't be sitting on a shelf. This classic lens has a beautiful signature and if you'd like to see a couple of pix taken with this copy send me a message thru eBay with your email address and I'll send them. You can buy this lens new at the big discount store in NYC for $4195 and on Jan 1 it is going up to $4495! Fast 35s are now seriously expensive and also seem to be scarce, presumably because of the M9. This is your chance to buy an excellent copy of this lens at a reasonable price. I only use USPS to ship and the flat rate shipping cost for US buyers of $41.95 for Priority Mail includes full replacement insurance coverage, full tracking, and Signature Confirmation Receipt (form 153). A receipt will be required on delivery.
