For sale is one Canon 500 F4L IS lens in excellent or better condition. It is lightly used and I have always used it with a protective camouflage covering as shown in the photos. I do not know of any chips or dings other than some micro paint chips where the lens hood attaches to the camera body (as shown in photo of the white trim around the lens hood). Included in the sale is everything that came with the lens including the hard case (mint), soft leatherette lens cover (also mint), instruction booklet, and original lens foot. In addition, included are the following “extras”: A Naturescape.net CP-51 custom replacement foot ($85 value). This is the replacement foot that I used with the lens and is shown attached to the lens in the pictures. It makes for a lower profile foot than the stock foot and makes the lens more maneuverable on a Wimberley Sidekick or the like (I am also going to sell the Wimberley Sidekick. Message me for details). Also included in this sale is a Really Right Stuff MPR 113 Multi-Purpose Side Rail ($55 value). Also available is a Kinesis L511 carrying case shown in the picture below next to the cardboard box but NOT included in this sale. Message me for details. This sale includes only the lens, lens cover, original box, hard carrying case, instruction booklet, custom replacement foot, RRS multipurpose rail, camouflage as shown, and a couple of properly sized tupperware type lids to use as a less bulky lens cover than the stock one supplied. I am happy to provide sample pictures. I have sold lenses here and elsewhere before and my feedback is unblemished. Bid with confidence. Item is located in Atlanta, GA. Local pickup is possible. Most International bidders are welcome but must have positive feedback and appropriate payment and shipment arrangements.

The original owner was L.A , this lens has preformed flawlessly, Optics on this lens is excellent, no scratch, no mold, no oil, super clean and clear, the lens barrel is in excellent condition and shows signs of normal use, no dings or dents, lens shade has a small tear in the rubber ring from the locking foot being tightened to the front shade, also a few paint chips on the hood. AF on this lens is fast and accurate even with the TC-17E. The lock button for the aperture ring does not lock but will stay where it’s set to so it’s not a big issue. AF distance button works, as well as the focus lock buttons. Lens comes with two piece lens shade and rear cap, filter holder with L-37 filter, Lens coat also include.

This auction is for a good condition Minolta 600mm f/4 AF High Speed APO lens. Serial number is 12101006. Included with the lens are: Minolta front 154.5mm clear filter.Minolta front lens cover and rear lens cap.Drop-in filter holder with clear filter.Filter case with 5 filters – R60, O56, Y52, 1B (skylight), ND4.The trunk case with keys which is in overall good condition. It does have some minor dents and scratches on the outside and some of the rivets are a little rusty. The interior is pretty much perfect.Original manual.Lens strap.Case strap. I cannot see any marks, scratches, haze or fungus on any of the glass. Both manual and AF work as they should and the aperture blades are clean and oil free. The lens mount is in good condition with just a few usage marks which should be visible in the photograph. There is an area on the lens barrel about an inch and a half long by about half an inch wide where the paint has rubbed off. I had the lens on a shoulder strap and walked about a mile not realizing that it was rubbing on the buckle of my jacket. The lens was not banged or dropped. There are a couple of other very small marks and a couple of paint chips on some of the edges. The tripod foot is clean but it has lost its insert and the marks you can see on the sides are from the glue. The lens hood moves smoothly and locks in place. I am limited to 12 images of this lens. Please send me your email address if you want more specific/detailed photographs of any area of the lens or accessories. I am also selling a Minolta 2x tele-converter. Payment within 7 days please. Contact me before you bid if you need longer to pay. A delivery confirmation signature will also be required. Please contact me within 7 days of receipt of the lens should you want to return it. Refund will be through PayPal and will not include shipping. You will be responsible for return shipping and insurance.

Mitchell NC camera N° 305manufactured in 1945 and delivered to England, where it remained for all of its working life.It was the main camera of Wally Veeverswho was head of the Effects Department at Shepperton Studios, where I bought it many years ago.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0891764/His nameplate is still on the case.Veevers was heavily involved in the effects work on Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove and 2001: A Space Odyssey. This camera was actually used by Stanley Kubrick in the making of both films. The picture above is from the DVD of the documentary “Stanley Kubrick, A Life in Pictures”and shows him peering into the finder of this very camera.I took a picture of the camera as it looks today, in exactly the same position. The paint chips and green dot on the viewfinder tube superimpose exactly.Interestingly there are very few cameras that have even a partial list of projects they worked on.Almost all records have been lost, so having any information at all on any camera is historical treasure of the rarest kind.Signed authentification is even rarer. As years went by, this camera’s historical importance became more and more obvious. In 2003 I asked 3 technicians who actually worked with Veevers and Kubrick to sign a certificate of origin. The list of films on which this camera was used includes several all-time greats that are now part of movie history. In addition to the two films mentioned above, some of the highlights are:A King in New York (Charlie Chaplin, 1957), The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Longest Day (1962),Lord Jim (1965), Battle of Britain (1968), The Last Valley (1970), Diamonds are Forever (1971),The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Superman (1978),Excalibur (1981)… and the list contains more amazing titles. Before Veevers, the camera belonged to W. Percy Day (1878-1965), as Day’s grand-daughter acknowledged.Wally Veevers was Poppa Day’s assistant at Shepperton Studios and became Director of Special Effects himself when the Master retired. It is only recently that I realized how immmensely important this amazing man was.Poppa Day was an artist and film pioneer whose film career started in 1919. He then became a Wizard in the fields of special effects, matte-painting, etc,Things to Come, The Four Feathers, Wuthering Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Thief of Bagdad,How Green Was My Valley, Colonel Blimp, A Matter of Life and Death, Black Narcissus, The Third Man, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman …… are just some of the films which Pop Day worked on.So this camera was certainly used on some of these films, from 1945 on. Day was also stepfather of another matte-painting legend: Peter Ellenshaw, father of Harrison Ellenshaw. To know more about Pop Day, have a look at these links:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0206622/http://www.walterpercyday.org/(On the subject of matte-paintings, I recommend the wonderful bookby Craig Barron and Mark Cotta-Vaz “The Invisible Art” – a whole chapter is devoted to WPD)-The package comprises the following:Mitchell NC camera body and movement marked #305,Matching original rackover base and BNCR single lens-mount,Matching camera motor door marked NC305Matching camera case-Mitchell Viewfinder, marked NC305Wide-Angle attachment mounted on viewfinderMitchell 110V AC/DC Motor #1289 and power cableMitchell Matte-Box #1310 and rodsMitchell 400′ magazineSome bits and small partsMatching accessory case-Additional 1000′ magazine NC-type, #7937-Cooke Series II and III lenses, from 18mm to 75mm (6), BNCR-mounted by Moores* & Griffin Co. Ltd.Case marked Moores & Griffin Co. Ltd.-Mitchell (baby) tripod with large top-Moy Geared Head-Mitchell follow-focus* Roy Moores was a camera engineer employed by Technicolor for many years (that’s why he isn’t credited in many films in imdb for example). He was a specialist for the Vistavision and Technirama processes (he actually provided the Vistavision cameras for process shots on the first Star Wars)and worked with Hitchcock on The Man Who Knew Too Much, and on big epics like Spartacus, El Cid, The Fall of the Roman Empire. Then he continued as a Front Projection specialist on films like The Battle of Britain, the James Bond films, Aliens, etc. etc.Condition:Camera body and motor are in perfect working condition. The follow-focus device’s gears fall a little too short to catch the gears on the BNCR lenses,so we never used it (it usually wasn’t used for SFX work) but it can be adjusted. The lenses are in top condition, without scratches or fungus. The 40mm has some dust particles – could be cleaned. The Moy head works at all speeds but is in poor condition.A Mitchell friction head can be provided instead if desired.Other accessories show normal signs of wear.Documentation:Certificate of ownership by Wally Veevers and list of films, signed by 3 BSC technicians and current owner.2 photos showing Mitchell NC 305 shooting “Guns of Navarone” with inscriptions on the back.-There are certainly not many objects so heavily charged with movie history …When I bought this camera many years ago, I did not quite realize its importance. The goal was to shoot a feature film with it. We last used it 3 years ago and it worked perfectly. This camera is physical evidence of movie and mechanical craftsmanship of the “golden age”…. As a piece of cinema memorabilia, it certainly goes beyond the wildest dreams.Auction starts at $2001Shipping costs is indicative and will depend on buyer’s location and requirements. Payment will have to be made via bank transfer.

This lens was purchased three years ago from Hunts Photo. It is a U.S. lens and not gray market. As a professional nature photographer this lens has been all over the world with me and has performed superbly in all types of conditions ranging from the cold arctic to hot desert. Since I received it, the lens has been encased in a LensCoat (not included) to protect the lens and its finish. It has also undergone routine servicing (cleaning, autofocus check, etc.) through the Canon Professional Society (CPS). The body is in extremely good conditions with just a few small paint chips located around the tripod foot as well as the usual wear marks where the lens hood attaches to the body. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The lens would be rated at 9.5 out of 10. Compared to Canon’s 400mm and 600mm lenses, the 500mm is the lens of choice for me when it comes to wildlife and nature photography. The high quality glass, image sharpness and lower weight make it a combination that is hard to beat to obtain award winning images. The auto focus is fast and spot on regard less if the lens is in -20 or +120 weather. The auction includes the lens, lens hood, both lens caps, case (with keys), strap, and manual. As a professional photographer, I rotate my big lenses about every 3-4 years which is why this lens is up for auction. If you would care to see some of the wildlife work this lens has produced just Google Wildlight Nature Photography to get to my website. I have a 100% rating on Ebay, so you may bid with confidence. Basic lens specifications are listed below but if you want more detailed information go to Canon USA’ s website. Shipping is via USPS parcel post and includes insurance and signature confirmation for U.S. buyers. I will sell this to Canada but please contact me for a shipping quote. If the winning buyer happens to be in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area, I will personally deliver the lens upon PayPal receipt of payment. Product DescriptionWith an f/4.0 aperture, the 500mm f/4 IS provides AF with any EOS body even when used with the EF 1.4x Extender.
