Previously unheard of for such a compact unit, the HVR-Z7U incorporates the convenience of a handheld camcorder with the flexibility of larger ENG cameras. The camera can also record directly to compact flash cards, via the camera’s supplied memory recording unit. Combined with Sony’s entire family of HDV products, the HVR-Z7U is a great camcorder for almost any production, including documentaries, news, low-budget movies, music videos, and industrials. Interchangeable Lenses Users get the best of both worlds with this innovative camcorder. The HVR-Z7U’s unique design is the first of its kind; a handheld camera with the interchangeable lens capability. Whether you are filming a movie or shooting a documentary, the HVR-Z7U has it covered. ClearVID 3CMOS Technology Sony’s ClearVID sensors are positioned at a 45° angle. Since each pixel is positioned at this angle the result is far clearer diagonal lines. Images will appear crisper, without the apparent “jaggies” that often plague video signals. Record to Compact Flash The camera comes with an attachable recording unit, allowing users to record HDV and DV to CompactFlash cards. With cards getting larger and larger in capacity, the ability to take advantage of tapeless workflow while still using cheap media is a welcome addition. High Definition on MiniDV Tapes with HDV The HDV format, used in the HVR-Z7U allows high definition recording on standard MiniDV tapes. This is accomplished by using the very popular MPEG-2 compression technique used in many applications, including DVDs and satellite television. 24p Capability In 24p mode, images from the CMOS can be 2:3 pulldown-converted and recorded onto tape in the standard 60i HDV format. The tape can then be played back or edited using an ordinary HDV system. True 24p editing can be achieved by uploading 2:3 pulldown-converted images via an i.LINK FireWire interface to a compatible non-linear editing system. The resultant images resemble the visual motion of film! HDMI Output Many consumer products are adopting High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) connections for transmitting uncompressed digital HD video signals. Sony has upped the ante by incorporating this into the already extensive array of video output choices on the HVR-Z7U. Connect the camera to any HDTV via this interface and view all your footage the way it was meant to be seen: purely digital!

Whether shooting in 720p, 1080i, or 1080p modes, the PMW-EX1 has it all covered. Its bevy of output settings lets users take advantage of fast and slow motion, as well as popular framerates such as the “film-like” 24p mode.>> Here is a good site with a great deal of detail – Vistek – this is where I purchased itIncludes everything in the picture:• PMW-EX1 Camera• 2 SXS Memory cards – 2×8GB• 2 Batteries – 1xBP-U60 1xBP-U30• BC-U1 Charger• Lens Hood• Large Eye Cup• IR Remote Controller • Strap• Original Box Condition: Excellent• No significant marks or scratches• Lens is mint• LCD screen is mint• All buttons, dial, wheels, and adjustors are mint• Hours Meter – 226• Plastic cover missing for the USB/AV/Comp out ports under the right side grip I bought this camera in December 2007 to be used in a web series. Most of the 226 hours on it are from that. I have used it for a few small projects here and there since then. It has been very reliable and takes a beautiful picture. North America bids only! Ship to North America only! Bids will be cancelled from outside of North America and if you have less than 10 feedback. Seriously, take your scam somewhere else. I will not accept a lower “Buy it now” price than what is listed. Let me know if you have any other questions.

SONY PMW-EX1 + 2 16GB SxS cards + 2 8 GB SxS cards + BP-U30 battery & charger + extra-long BP-U60 battery + Petrol bag +manual and shoulder strap I bought this camera in December 2007 from Abel CineTech, and it changed my life — literally. I went from video semi-pro to full-fledged videographer, working full-time with clients as big as Nike and South By Southwest. The EX1’s ease of use and brilliant, crisp 1080p XDCAM HD always made my work look good, and I honestly believe I wouldn’t be where I am today with inferior gear. So why sell? Well, at the end of 2009, I moved to NYC and joined a larger organization with all the equipment I need in-house, including plenty of HD gear. So it’s time to let this camera help someone else take the next step. The EX1 is in excellent condition. It’s logged 274 hours, and 3/4s of that has been on a tripod and in studio settings. I’ve also taken it on NFL Draft workout sidelines, etc., but the only wear and tear is light scuffing around tripod connection, the rubbing off of the word ’select’ over the menu wheel on the back, and a few cosmetic nicks. It comes with 4 SxS cards — 2 16 GBs and 2 8 GBs. That’s several hours of recording time. And I am also including my extra-long BP-U60 battery plus the original battery and charger. You’ll be able to shoot all day with this setup. And my Petrol bag was ordered special for the camera, so it goes in, too. I’ve been on eBay with this account for 10 years. I have 100% feedback. I’ve sold multiple cameras here as I’ve grown, from a Canon XL1 to the Sony FX1 to, now, this lovely Sony PMW-EX1. I hope it finds a great home because it’s the best investment I ever made. I’ll cover shipping via FedEx or UPS with insurance, but I will send it US only. Thanks so much!

This unit was used for B roll on one project. As you can see in the pics it has only 5 hours use, and only 9 charge cycles on the battery. It is firmware 1.11 as shown in the picture. It works perfectly and is in great shape. We just do not use it enough to justify keeping in inventory. Comes only with what you see in the pics, plus original manual and software, two 8gb cards, one Sony, the other Sandisk. I also have a Letus Ultimate for this camera up in another auction. I will ship in original box, inside a new shipping box for extra security. I am requiring insurance be purchased and it is not cheap. I will charge only exact shipping and insurance. Paypal or Certified Major US Bank Check Only.

We are selling this lovely Sony HVR Z7U HDV camera. It has crazy-low hours: operation 1×10, drum run 0×10, tape run 0×10 (which means less than 10 hours of use, not 0 hours). It comes with all the accessories you see here, which, to the best of my memory, is what it came with (plus one large battery). This camera was used on a tripod (also for sale here on ebay) inside a home studio and never left the studio, which is why it is in the great condition that you see. The large extra battery took a drop (butter hands), and, as you can see, has a dent on it. Otherwise, I could not see any marks on anything else. To my opinion, this is the best handheld HDV camera on the market, not only because of the beautiful pictures it makes, but because the lens is interchangeable, which opens a lot more possibilities. Feel free to contact us with your questions. Local pick up is welcome, we are in Los Angeles. Thank you for visiting.
